Introducing Freshman Coach Lacy Murphy!

23 Jul 2020 by Sarah Morris

Hello LASA Volleyball!

I am Coach Lacy Murphy, I will be the Freshman Volleyball and Basketball Coach for the 2020-2021 school year. I am so excited to be part of the Raptor Family!

Over the past 10 years, I have been teaching Elementary Physical Education for Austin ISD and I am very happy to join the Austin ISD Athletic family and the start of the competitive program of LASA Athletics!

I moved to Austin from El Paso, Texas where I gained a Bachelor’s in Science with focus on Kinesiology and a minor in Education from the University of Texas at El Paso. “Go Miners!”

I played volleyball, basketball, and softball growing up and always had the energy and mind set to compete for the Win!

Throughout my high school athletic career, I played competitive volleyball as a setter and point guard of the basketball team. However, I didn’t go right into college after high school because I wanted to experience life. I proceeded to work as a certified personal trainer for the YWCA because I enjoyed working out and helping people. I also started out with the career of being a firefighter until I made the decision to change my goal path. I suppose my true calling came through when I decided to start a career in education. I have always wanted to be a coach for a competitive athletic program and I am ready to start my coaching career at LASA!

Team bonding and working together to achieve a common Win will be our key to Success! I am super excited to be coaching and to be a part of our Team!
