2020 Plans for the LASA Volleyball Boosters

4 Sep 2020 by Sarah Morris

Welcome to all returning and new parents! 2020 has brought so many challenges and changes, but one thing remains the same – the boosters are looking forward to supporting our LASA Volleyball athletes.

We believe the best plan for this season is to focus the Booster Club’s efforts on PLAYER RECOGNITION. That puts activities like letter jackets, player highlights (physical and on social media), awards, banners and similar activities at the top of the list. This targeted plan takes into account the challenges and limitations of what’s planned for the 2020 season and we hope to have your SUPPORT and ENGAGEMENT.

To this end, we invite and encourage all parents to become supporting members of the Booster Club and pitch in as you are able. Your contribution and involvement will help make this a great season and set the stage for next year. We can use some great parent leaders!

Here are the things you need to know for 2020:

1. Please MAINTAIN/CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT on this LASA VOLLEYBALL teamapp. This is how we’ll stay connected and up to date during the season.

2. Watch for information in the next week about how to become a FINANCIAL SUPPORTER of the boosters. Your tax-deductible donation directly benefits our players.

3. Watch for information in the next week about our SOLE FUNDRAISER – spirit-wear tees. This year’s tee-shirt design is the same as the team shirt – a keepsake from the inaugural season of LASA volleyball and a great way to outfit you, your daughter, siblings, grandparents … the dog.

Volunteer positions are expected to be quite a bit different this season and we will not be asking for “fair-share” contributions or providing pre-game meals (due to COVID-19 limitations).

Looking to next season, the Booster Club is poised to make a big return in the 2021 season. We look forward to returning to the full slate of activities including spirit nights, concession sales, pre-game meals and the team banquet! As a foundation for this return to normal activity next season, we have already secured non-profit status with the state of Texas and expect to have tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service.

With this targeted Booster Club plan for the season, we remain STRONG and look forward to the coming season and to 2021. THANK YOU for your support and engagement!
